Harrow is located in Northwest London, and is known as the London borough of Harrow, a large suburban town, just over 10 miles away from Charing Cross and 5 miles away from Watford and local to Ruislip. Its location makes it an ideal commute distance for those who are working in the city or surrounding towns, but still retaining the natural beauty and the quietness of the suburbs. Conservation areas in Harrow include Harrow on the Hill, featuring Georgian listed buildings, Harrow in the 2011 census had over eighty thousand residents. Harrow also boasts one of the most prestigious schools in the UK, founded in 1572 by Queen Elizabeth II under a royal charter, it sits in almost three hundred acres of grounds and encompasses much of Harrow. Famous people who have attended Harrow School include Winston Churchill, Stanley Baldwin, James Blunt and Benedict Cumberbatch to name just a few. Harrow is also home to Barnet F.C. who play at The Hive Stadium and are a league two football club.
